The course is available thanks to the generous support of the European Union and the Korea Forest Service of the Government of the Republic of Korea through the Forest Ecosystem Restoration Initiative. The course serves as an introduction to the Short-Term Action Plan on Ecosystem Restoration (decision XIII/5) and compiles research from leading institutions and experts in the field to raise awareness and build ecosystem restoration capacity.

CBD National Focal Points were encouraged to nominate national experts to join a privately facilitated course room [Official CBD Notification # 2022-038, PDF-207 Kb]. SCBD welcomes more nominations, and the general public is also invited to participate – with over 14,792 joined so far!
